Open Positions:

WTAMU Library Resource – Communications, English, majors

  • Grad student or upperclassman preferred, working with Cornette Library
  • Work with Cornette Library to support outreach program to local area high schools. Support community activities hosted by the library for summer programs. Support events. Create materials for events and outreach to community libraries.


Canyon City Support

  • Could include various community support such as serving with the city library and engaging in other activities and service projects


Hereford Community Resource

  • Spanish speaker preferred, serving with Hereford Food Pantry, may also help with summer reading program at the library and community outreach.


Cactus Community Resource

  • Support summer kids program and English classes.


Friona Community Resource

  • Help with summer community events (example: Cheeseburger Festival) and recruiting volunteers


Communications and Marketing Intern (general, site placement TBD) - Internship credit not guaranteed

  • Suppose you are interested in communications and marketing within the nonprofit space. In that case, we have various partner organizations that might be looking for someone to fill a role geared in that direction. Apply below and we will see if there is a good fit!


Community Resource Member for Pampa Library

  • Spanish speaker preferred,
  • Support the work of the library to expand or enhance its impact and effectiveness in the community, particularly in areas of educational attainment, environmental stewardship, economic opportunity, or healthy futures.


Community Resource Member for Pampa Schools

  • Support the work of the Pampa schools to expand or enhance impact and effectiveness in the community, particularly in areas of economic opportunity and community engagement.

REQUIREMENTS


Members must:

  • be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
  • be 18 years or older (no upper age limit)
  • pass criminal history background checks, including National Sex Offender Public Registry, felony crimes, and an FBI fingerprint check


Ideal qualities of an AmeriCorps member:

  • A desire to engage others and work together to solve problems
  • A desire to make a difference and create change in the community
  • An interest in national and community service
  • An awareness of the Panhandle area and its needs
  • Someone who wants to "GET THINGS DONE"


BENEFITS

LIVING ALLOWANCE

Paid in monthly increments

The living allowance is not a salary or a wage but designed to support members living expenses during their service year.


SEGAL-EDUCATION AWARD

An Education Award is earned after completion of member hours at the end of service term. The award can be used to pay for educational expenses or student loans.
